Recently my husband and I snuck away for a quick weekend trip to Los Angeles and stumbled upon an enormous, bustling farmer’s market while we were out strolling on our last day.

I can’t tell you what a sight for sore eyes all the artichokes, strawberries, fresh dates, and citrus fruits were!

Back here in the Midwest, we’re not quite to the same point of abundance in terms of fresh fruits and vegetables, but summer’s right around the corner, plus lots of fun holidays and events including Cinco de Mayo, Mother’s Day, and Memorial Day.
